    Description

    Vintage good luck token. AIRES is one of a set of 12 representing the zodiac signs.  Given out by a traveling magical act called The Ushers. They also owned a magic and astrology supply store in Venice, CA in the 1930s. Follow the link below to a great article on this token. This is a "type 1" token according to the article. It is in good shape except for a punch mark on edge. It appears someone wanted a hole and used a square punch to attempt the task. It is 26mm brass with heavy patina as a result of having been buried.  It was found with a metal detector. Very small copyright inscription can be read with magnifier.
