    Description

Listed is a very rare restored Prewar American Flyer #2009 Wide Gauge Arc Light from the early 1922-1925, This is Wide Gauge (Std. Gauge) and is approximately 11.5 inches high. It has been stripped of all old paint, corrosion if present was removed, I then resoldered the sockets & shades for a good ground. It was then primed and painted with correct matched Olive Green acrylic enamel paint. It was baked for durability and luster. All hardware was either replaced or cleaned & polished. The wiring is period correct cloth coat wiring. This item is rare to find and is made out of cast Iron on the base, the pole is rolled brass and the top is cast brass. It is one of the best made prewar street lights I have found. It is a beautiful and very rare item to find. These were made by either IVES or Bing for AF during this period of time. AF did not make their own accessories until the late 1920's and then they were made out of stamped steel and much cheaper in quality. The AF made item for this was numbered a 2109 when they started making them. This is a restoration and not a paint over. The pictures tell it all. Thanks for looking.
